About Dr.Krishnaiah Katam


Dr.Krishnaiah Katam is the Lead Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at Orange Hospital, Tirupati. He has a pleasant and easy going personality. He is a keen teacher and is willing to share his knowledge and skills with junior colleagues.

He studied MBBS at Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, graduating in 1997. He obtained MS Orthopaedics from Osmania Medical College, NTR university of Health Sciences in 2001.

In 2007 he became Member of Royal College of Surgeons. Completed the orthopaedic training exit exam FRCS T&O and became Fellow of Royal College of surgeons in 2013.v

Clinical Experience:

He worked as Assistant Professor in Orthopaedics at Deccan Medical College, Hyderabad, MBNR Medical College, and Sangareddy and as Orthopaedic Specialist in Area Hospital SCCL, Ramakrishnapuram, and Adilabad.

He furthered his experience in Orthopaedics by working in renowned hospitals in the UK including Royal United Hospital Bath, Good Hope Hospital Sutton Coldfield, Heartlands Hospital Birmingham, Solihull Hospital Solihull, and South Warwick Hospital Warwick.

He gained vast experience in Primary and Revision Joint Replacements and Arthroscopy over a period of 10 years in UK.

He is currently doing Fellowship in Lower Limb Arthroplasty. This is given him enormous experience in Primary and Revision Hip and Knee replacements as well as Sports Injuries of Knee like ACL and Meniscal injuries.

Academic Achievements:

• Master’s Thesis on ‘Boytchev’s Procedure for Management of Recurrent Dislocation of Shoulder’
• Presented several papers as Oral & Posters in various meetings held in UK, Europe, and India
• Published articles in peer reviewed journals
• Faculty member of FRCS clinical and Viva courses at Medway Hospital , London UK
• Life Member of IOA

After 10 years of UK experience and gaining the expertise in the field of Joint Replacement and Arthroscopy, he decided to serve the Motherland and look after his parents and family.
